The Book and Film Club presents: Women Talking!
Based on the best-selling novel by Miriam Toews, “Women Talking” follows a group of women in an isolated religious colony as they struggle to reconcile their faith with a series of sexual assaults committed by the colony’s men.
This year, the Book and Film Club will be watching the movie before the book discussion. Film screening will take place on Thursday, October 8th at 7 PM and will include a post-film Q&A with Professor Sara Saljoughi, a writer and scholar focused on cinema from the Global South and feminist filmmaking.
The book discussion will be the week ahead on Friday, October 2, at 7PM at the Kingston Road United Church.
