From the creative genius of director, John Carney (Begin Again, Sing Street) comes a musical comedy-drama that is sure to leave your heart in perfect harmony.
Flora, (Eve Hewson, Bridge of Spies, Enough Said) a single mother living in Dublin, is having trouble connecting and keeping her estranged son Max, a rebellious teenage and petty thief, out of trouble. At the behest of local authorities, Flora is encouraged to help Max find a hobby to keep him busy as he’s on his last straw before being sent to juvenile prison.
Worried about the future of her son, Flora rescues a would-be trashed guitar in the hopes of igniting a passion for the instrument in her son, afterall, one person’s trash is another persons treasure, right? With the help of a Los-Angeles based online guitar teacher (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, 500 Days of Summer, 10 Things I Hate About You), Flora hopes to strike the right chord for not only Max’s future, but her relationship with him as well.
