Our latest edition of High Tea Cinema falls on Mother’s Day and we think the best gift you could give to every mother you know is the chance to sit in the dark, sip some tea, nibble on a scone and go on a cinematic trip to Italy courtesy of this dazzling, Oscar-winning adaptation of E.M. Forster’s 1908 novel.
In her first movie role, Helena Bonham Carter plays Lucy Honeychurch, a young, upper-middle-class English woman on holiday in Italy with her chaperone (Maggie Smith). When they find themselves in Florence in rooms without views, fellow guest George Emerson (Julian Sands) steps in to remedy the situation. Lucy soon falls for the handsome George, threatening her engagement to bookish snob Cecil (Daniel Day-Lewis) back in England.
Will Lucy choose love or duty? Grab your favourite Mother and head to the Fox to find out!
Each ticket comes with a cup of tea and a scone!
