Oscar winner Kate Winslet stars in this fascinating portrait of the great American war correspondent Lee Miller, whose singular talent and ferocious tenacity gave us some of the 20th century’s most indelible images.
The South of France in 1938. Lee, a former model turned photographer, follows her love Roland Penrose (Alexander Skarsgård) to London amidst the looming threat of war. Frustrated by the limitations for female photographers, she gains her own US War Accreditation and heads to Europe alone. Teaming up with fellow photographer David E. Scherman(Andy Samber), they capture significant events during the war.
Directed by Ellen Kuras and featuring superb supporting performances, serves as a reminder of the courageous women who pushed the boundaries of male-dominated spaces, ultimately changing the way we see the world.
