The powerhouse trio of Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor star in one of the most famous and beloved musicals of all time, that also happens to make for perfect “Sunday Afternoon Classic” viewing!
Set in 1920s Hollywood on the cusp of the sound era, the film tells the story of matinee idol Don Lockwood (Kelly) who’s risen to stardom during Hollywood’s silent-movie era, paired with the beautiful, jealous and daffy Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen).
When Lockwood suddenly becomes attracted to fresh-faced studio singer Kathy Selden (Reynolds), Lamont has her fired. But with the introduction of talking pictures, Lamont’s high-pitched voice causes audiences laugh, forcing the studio to use Selden to dub her voice. Of course, romantic misadventures ensue.
Featuring classic songs like “Make ’em Laugh,” “You Are My Lucky Star,” and of course the title track “Singin’ in the Rain,” you won’t want to miss your chance to see this Technicolor wonder up on the big screen!
